"One Apple Up On Top" #34

"One Apple Up On Top", Original Oil Painting /Archival Canvas panel 6"X8"

Using a viewfinder and value scale
Lately, I've been experimenting with lighting and value changes within colors. Using an amber viewfinder and a value scale helps me gauge the values. Glare on web paint can obscure the colors.
There's quite a bit of color in this still life, so it was important to unify the subject matter. I did this by receding the objects into the background color.
