"The Three Bees"

Daily Painting #119/"The Three Bees"/Original oil painting on panel 8"X8"

Whilst perusing a box of old photos, I came across this one of my mom (on the right) with her sister and her mom (left). It was a classic short from the 70's taken during the relative's visit here in front of the Mighty Missouri River. What a classic! What attracted me was the composition of the trio (after cropping), the contrasts of lights and darks (not to mention that awesome hit of red), and the dance of the sun upon their 1970's quintessential attire.

"A friend is always loyal, and a brother is born to help in time of need." Proverbs 17:17

  1. What a super painting. The brushwork, the lighting, the colors and SUBJECTS all work together for a beautiful piece. The colors you added into the whites is wonderful. This piece has so much personality! I bet they do too!
