"Two Are Better Than One"

Daily Painting #117/"Two Are Better Than One"/Original oil painting on panel 6"X8"

This week, you shall be taken on an exploration of the color "green". I am exploring the vast palette of the warm, cool and dark side of the color green. As I do, I'll share some "painting tips" that each painting provides.

The key to getting good, clean colors is: use less white to mix colors. Also keep the painting lively through the use of broken color; contrast bits of warm and cool but keep the values relatively close. With so much green, you have got to vary things by adding touches of orange, red and warm yellows. Be sure the painting can bear the level of intense color you apply.

 Enjoy, Eileen
