Oil Portrait by Eileen McCoy

"Portrait of Artist Dave Hancock" by Eileen McCoy
CONTACT EILEEN
Daily Painting #160/"Portrait of Artist Dave Hancock"/Original oil painting on panel 8"X8"

Credit is due to Dave Hancock, an inspirational painter, for permission to work from a fabulous photo he supplied.  I was attracted to the warm/cool contrasts on the face and the delightful reflected light on the shadow side. The colors and composition were inviting as well as the intensity of the subject
-not to mention Dave's unmistakable "coolness".

 Enjoy, Eileen

Krug Park Tunnel #1

Krug Park Tunnel #1/oil on canvas by Eileen McCoy

Daily Painting #158/"Krug Park Tunnel #1"/Original oil painting on panel 12"X9"

If you build it, they will honk. While painting this, I discovered that no one, absolutely no one-can resist honking when driving through a tunnel. Even the kids on bikes chimed their handle bar bells.
This painting was done on location. Tomorrow, I shall post the one I did today in the studio from a photo, attempting to recall the atmosphere/feeling of the day.
Upon my exit, much to my chagrin,  I honked.

  Enjoy, Eileen

Chase and Abigail Caricature

Chase and Abigail, 3-minute party caricature

Today's caricature selection speaks for itself: two adorable kids having fun at a Kansas City event. Nobody says the faces have to be lined up side-by-side.
Take some creative license with your drawings.
 Enjoy, Eileen

Colan the Kid, caricature

Colan, the kid-live 3 minute party caricature

This little boy was so excited to pose for me. It was a hot day as he rapidly plopped down into the chair and, shirtless, he froze into this pose for 3 whole minutes!
The myriad of new names and new spellings never ceases to amaze me.

Enjoy, Eileen

He drinks 6 red bulls a day!

Caricature of Red Bull Drinker-3 MINUTE LIVE PARTY DRAWING

This guy seemed awfully calm since he claims that he drinks 6 red bulls a day!
That is the equivalent of drinking 6 espresso coffees.
Not for me...  Enjoy, Eileen

Cinco de Mayo caricature of Mom and son

Cinco De Mayo caricature of Mom and Son-LIVE 3 MINUTE PARTY CARICATURE

Well---my painting easel is calling for me to return--but until I am able, let me share today's caricature pic from a Cinco De Mayo event.  Each drawing offers opportunity for new discoveries, like juxtaposing the subjects in a new way. I sort of Layered these two, instead of standing them side by side.

Enjoy, Eileen

2012 Siegfried & Hill Graduates

Siegfried and Hill- Liberty High School Graduation Caricature

Whilst at the printers, a customer came in and said "She's dressed like Glenda, the good witch". " Good!", I expressed. It's always a complement when you are able to get the message across without words.  The graduate on the left, had starred as "Glenda" in the Wizard of Oz at some point. Notice the other personal interests I diabolically weave into the drawing.  (ie.-Blue Devils-Mascot Fork.)

 Enjoy, Eileen
